Mr Mark Welch

Mr. Mark Welch is an accomplished Consultant General & Vascular Surgeon. After qualifying in Leeds in 1984, Mr Welch trained in general and vascular surgery between Leeds and Manchester before later joining the South Manchester Teaching Hospital Vascular Unit where he worked as a vascular surgeon for over ten years.

During his time at UHSM, Mr Welch has served in multiple roles, including Clinical Director of Vascular Surgery, Associate Medical Director and Director of Infection Prevention & Control. He enjoys educating junior doctors and peers and serves as programme director for Quality of Core Surgery Training, North West Deanery. He is also in charge of assessments for all junior surgeons in every surgical speciality in all hospitals in the North West.

Mr. Welch performs these multiple roles whilst maintaining a full clinical timetable. He is committed to excellence in the assessment and management of vascular disease and continues to contribute research papers in the field of vascular disease.
