Mr Andrew Kennedy

I have recently retired as a consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon working in the Belfast Trust. I continue to work in the Ulster Independent Clinic and Kingsbridge Private Hospital. 

My practice hwas previously split between the emergency surgical service in the Royal Victoria Hospital (Regional Trauma Centre) and major complex surgery in the Regional Upper GI Unit in the Belfast City Hospital. 

I am a fellow in good standing of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

In addition to my specialist surgical training in Northern Ireland I spent the year 1998 on Fellowship in the Upper GI Unit of the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Adelaide, South Australia under the mentorship of both Prof GG Jamieson & Prof DI Watson, both internationally recognised experts in Upper GI Surgery.

I have previously served as Clinical Director Emergency General Surgery, Gastrointestinal and Endocrine in the Belfast Trust. I have previously served terms as council member of the Association of Laparoscopic Surgery Great Britain and Ireland and the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Great Britain and Ireland of which I remain a member. I am a member of the British Hernia Society.
