Mr James Barnes

Mr James Barnes is a Paediatric and Young Adult Orthopaedic Surgeon. They have a sub-specialty interest in pathology around the hip in children and young adults.

Mr Barnes undertook specialist fellowship training at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, where they worked alongside some world leaders in hip preservation surgery, cerebral palsy, limb reconstruction and paediatric orthopaedics.

Mr Barnes was awarded the prestigious Mark Paterson Travelling Fellowship. They used this opportunity to increase their expertise in the management of complex hip pathologies. These include the sequela of Slipped Upper Femoral Epiphysis (SUFE), Perthes disease and hip dysplasia.
