About Mr Ike Okorocha

Mr Ike Okorocha is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician with over 20 years of experience, currently working at the East Kent NHS Trust. After graduating medicine in 1982, he completed his higher specialist training on the Oxford rotation, between the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford and the Stoke Mandeville Hospital Aylesbury. He gained further experience and qualification in both laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, for which he was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy by the University of Surrey.

His specialist interest covers all aspects of General Gynaecology. He performs most of his surgery laparoscopically and by way of other minimal access hysteroscopic techniques.

Ike is the Clinical Lead for the Rapid Access Gynaecological Services at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital as well as the QEQM Hospital, Margate.

In his spare time, Ike enjoys playing golf and chess.

Mr Ike Okorocha is interested in all aspects of General Gynaecology and performs most of his surgery laparoscopically and also by way of other minimal access hysteroscopic techniques.

My Special Clinical Interests include:

Menopause management.

• Colposcopy and Vulval diseases, including operations on the vulva and perineu

• Minimal Access Surgery including laparoscopic management of endometriosis, ovarian cysts, chronic pelvic pain

• Abnormal uterine bleeding and heavy periods including use of various endometrial ablation techniques

• Operative hysteroscopy including outpatient hysteroscopy and hysteroscopic resection of fibroids and polyps.

• Total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic oophorectomy, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy, vaginal hysterectomy and pelvic floor repair operations.

Areas of specialist interest include
