About Mr Ian Smith
Mr Ian Smith is a highly regarded consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon.
With private practices at both the Spire and Nuffield Hospitals in Leeds, he offers a full range of cosmetic surgery. This includes facial surgery, aesthetic surgery of the breast, body contouring surgery and non-surgical treatments.
Mr Smith also holds a consultant post at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, working across both the Leeds General Infirmary and St James's Hospital. As part of his NHS role, he is the Lead Clinician for Sarcoma and the Lead Clinician for Plastic Surgery, carrying out all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dedicated to the training of future plastic surgeons, Mr Smith is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds. He is also a member of the British Association of Plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council (GMC No 4426154).

I offer a full range of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery including surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures, head and neck surgery, skin cancer surgery, sarcoma surgery and reconstruction.
Following my initial training in Maxillofacial Surgery in Birmingham, I went on to undertake a 12 month fellowship in Adelaide, at the internationally renowned Australian Craniofacial Unit and a further 12 month Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology at The Royal Brisbane Hospital, Queensland. Here I gained advanced training in head and neck surgery and also complex skin cancers. I went on to complete my higher surgical training in Plastic Surgery in Leeds in 1996 and have trained throughout the Yorkshire region.
For the major part of my NHS appointment, I am the Lead Clinician for Sarcoma at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, and I am also Lead Clinician for Plastic Surgery. Carrying out all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery, I specialise in oncological surgery and reconstruction, including complex sarcoma surgery. Within my private practice, I offer a full range of cosmetic surgery including facial surgery, aesthetic surgery of the breast, body contouring surgery and non-surgical treatments. I am a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and I am on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council.

Mr Smith provided an excellent service, he put my 13 year old daughter at ease from the first consultation. He explained the procedure thoroughly. The scar is hardly visible after only a few weeks.
