About Mr Henry Willmott

Mr Willmott undertook his postgraduate surgical training in London and the South East. During his training he obtained a Master of Science degree in orthopaedics and conducted research into improving the surgical treatment of arthritis of the great toe.

After completing his general orthopaedic training he was awarded the British Orthopaedic Association Travelling Fellowship Award. This allowed him to work at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington DC, USA. Here he gained experience of cutting-edge surgical techniques used in the treatment of challenging lower limb injuries in American servicemen and women.

On returning to the UK, he underwent further sub-specialty fellowship training in Bournemouth, where he gained experience in the management of a wide range of foot and ankle problems. He then undertook the prestigious AO Fellowship at Harborview Hospital in Seattle, gaining additional experience in complex foot and ankle surgery.

Mr Willmott's NHS practice is in East Sussex, privately he practices at Spire Sussex Hospital in Hastings and KIMS Hospital in Maidstone.

Mr Willmott is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He is author of ‘Trauma and Orthopaedics At A Glance', a popular core text book for medical students and junior doctors.
