I am a fully qualified and NHS trained Oncoplastic Breast and Aesthetic Breast Surgeon. Having formally worked as a Specialist Consultant for over 20 years at the pretigeous Leeds Teaching Hospital Breast Unit at St James's Hospital in Leeds, I am very experienced with all aspects of breast management, investigations and surgery. I cover the full range of cosmetic breast surgery procedures such as breast reduction, breast implant removal with uplift, capsulectomy, mastopexy, breast augmentation and revision surgery.
We have full breast imaging and pathology investigational services and links to the multidiscplinary breast team.
I also undertake all aspects of breast cancer work including wide local excision, mastectomy, skin sparing mastectomy, sentinel node biopsy, axillary node clerance and therapeutic mammoplasty. I have performed thousands of these operations with consistently high outcomes. I do not do general surgery and am wholly specialised in the breast. I am a member of the Association of Breast Surgery and am a fully certified cosmetic breast surgeon through the Royal College of Surgeons. I have served as a national cosmetic breast surgery lead for the ABS cosmetic sub-group and trainer for oncoplastic breast surgery fellows.
I am experienced in 3D breast imaging and bio dimensional assessments and have a UK-wide reputation for cosmetic breast surgery with platinum level endorsements from patients about my cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery work.
My expertise in oncoplastic breast surgery also includes immediate reconstruction with tissue flaps or implants if this appropriate, lipomodelling, implant revisions, and reshaping therapeutic mammoplasty. Additional details are available on my website. The only area I do not cover is the speciality of microvascular free flap surgery, which I refer to a colleague who specialises in that domain.
I provide a highly regarded, personalised, and truly comprehensive breast service with high quality care to my patients.
My outcomes are exceptional: I have had no cases of mortality, no cases of MRSA, no cases of DVT or PE in any of my private practice patients. My return to theatre rate is < 1%. In the last 21 years, and over 2,000 cases of cosmetic breast enlargement I have never had an infected breast implant. Patient reported feedback is consistently outstanding -see will see over 350 reviews of patient feedback on the iwantgreatcare website.
