About Mr Donald Whitaker
Mr Donald Whitaker is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon based at King's College Hospital and he also sees patients privately, including at The London Bridge Hospital. He performs adult cardiac and thoracic surgery and has a special interests in Video- Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS), internal rib fixation and the Ravitch repair of pectus excavatum.
Mr Whitaker trained on the South East London programme, which included King's College and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals. He also undertook a year of Fellowship training in Halifax, Canada. He attained an MD from the University of Edinburgh in 2006 for research into neuropsychological outcomes after bypass surgery. He has also received the Certificate of Completion of Training and is on the General Medical Council Specialist Register for Cardiothoracic Surgery. Mr Whitaker is a member of The Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, The European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

CardiologistDonald Whitaker and I trained together rand have stayed in touch ever since. He is a great guy and a wonderful surgeon. He is one of the few surgeons who still perform both cardiac and thoracic surgery.. His team, colleagues and patients speak very highly of him.. He always puts at ease those around him.
