Mr Casula and his team performed a mitral valve repair to my heart 2 weeks ago. My operation took place on the day of my arrival, after which I spent 2 days in the intensive care unit followed by 3 days in recovery during which I received regular interventions and tests with related medication. The procedure, with any alternative outcomes, was explained to me in clear concise detail before the operation took place both by Mr Casula, the anaesthetist and the nursing staff, so that post op, I understood my condition from the start.

He was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and informative, thoroughly explaining my options and putting me completely at ease during a stressful decision. His deep understanding of the procedure gave me total confidence in my care, and I could not be happier with my choice. I highly recommend him!

Once my problems had been diagnosed Mr Casula explained that the longer I waited the hoped for improvements would be more difficult to realise, but that the decision was entirely mine. It wasn't difficult for me to agree to the procedure, and Mr Casula arranged a date as soon as possible. I was admitted to hospital on 11th August for a Mitral Valve Replacement, a Tricuspid Valve repair and left Atrial Appendage treatment. I already had great confidence in Mr Casula and that was reinforced by meeting him before the procedure and his chosen anaesthetist. I knew exactly what was going to happen, "no surprises" and looked forward to a good result. Not only is Mr Casula a highly skilled surgeon but he is so approachable and takes the time to treat you as an individual. As a result the procedures were successful and I was discharged from hospital after six days (not the anticipated eight) I was told by my wife and son that they received a very full debrief afterwards and Mr Casula answered any questions. I am already feeling my strength return. I would encourage anyone who is diagnosed with symptoms not to delay but get Mr Casula to proceed .
