He is the UK Principal Investigator for the STRASS 2 (EORTC 1809-STBSG) clinical trial and is on the Executive committee of the Transatlantic Australasian Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group and part of the team collaborating with The Institute of Cancer Research.
· Educational leadership, presenting guideline updates at conferences, training programmes, and tumour boards to support dissemination and implementation across clinical communities.
A Commitment to Multidisciplinary Excellence
Mr Strauss is deeply committed to multidisciplinary cancer care. Mr Strauss recently carried out major complex surgery to remove a large sarcoma from my pelvis, working alongside two other highly experienced surgeons. He was key to the process. I am delighted to say that the surgery was extremely successful. I cannot recommend Mr Strauss more highly. He is an excellent, extremely experienced surgery with a kind, compassionate manner. I always felt in safe hands.
First class care, explanations and kept well informed.
I have a 14 cm retroperitoneal mass and I am so happy with Mr Dirk. He is the main expert in the UK and he is very efficient and very knowledgable. I felt very comfortable by his manner and service. I strongly recommend him and very happy to be under his care.
My recent visit was once again a very positive and reassuring experience. Mr Strauss has always put me at ease despite having had serious problems. Once again things were explained to me in a reassuring manner. It is always an up lifting experience which helps with any problems . I cannot stress enough how good this Surgeon is.
At the Royal Marsden, as an organisation, really very good. In relation to Mr Dirk Strauss... superb. All of my queries and questions were answered sensitively and with great clarity. I felt very confident, almost empowered, at the end of the consultation.
Professional, friendly and reassuring as always! Very lucky to have Dr Strauss as my consultant.
