Made me feel very much @ ease, very talented & confident in his abilities as a surgeon
We contacted Dr Kumar after my father was told his tumour was inoperable and that he had one year to live. This was before my father had started any chemotherapy or immunotherapy treatment. Meeting with Dr Kumar was a completely different experience. Whilst previous doctors write my father off, Dr Kumar said that he would reconsider my father for surgery after he had completed his treatment. He took on my father's case, giving us hope. Thankfully the treatment was a resounding success and Dr Kumar operated on my father who is now doing very well. Dr Kumar saved my father's life and kept us all going when we felt we had no hope left.
I feel incredibly lucky to have been treated by Mr. Kumar. He is exceptionally talented and knowledgeable in his field, as well as being kind, compassionate, and understanding. My family and I came under Mr. Kumar’s care after my cancer was deemed inoperable by another hospital and I was given a terminal diagnosis. Mr. Kumar operated successfully and has truly given me my life back. Because of him, I have the opportunity to see my two small children grow up. I will be forever grateful to him; he hasn't just changed my life, he has changed theirs too.
From our first meeting, Dr Kumar was resssuring, supportive, understanding, and encouraging. He explained all the issues with clarity snd humanity, with an emphasis on honesty and transparency in his communication, being careful to manage expectations. He is a consummate professional who is dedicated to providing the very best care. I owe my life to him.
Outstanding care from start to finish I was referred to Mr Kumar for a hiatus hernia and longstanding reflux issues, and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. From the very first consultation, he took the time to listen carefully to my symptoms, explained everything in clear and straightforward terms, and made sure I fully understood my treatment options before we made any decisions together. The procedure itself went smoothly and the results have been life-changing — I've had no reflux since. What really stood out was the level of post-operative care and follow-up. Mr Kumar and his team were always accessible if I had concerns, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. His manner is calm, professional, and genuinely reassuring — exactly what you need when facing surgery. I left every appointment feeling confident and well looked after. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Kumar to anyone dealing with upper GI issues or reflux conditions. A truly exceptional surgeon.
Having had life-saving surgery a couple of years ago at the Royal Marsden to remove a cancerous esophagus removed and have it rebuilt out of my stomach ( an Ivor-Lewis resection), by Dr.Kumar and his team of Dr. Patel and other miracle workers, I had been asked to contact them if I had any other serious gastro intestinal problems. Having checked myself into St.George's A & E In February with sever abdominal pain, after scans and a consultation with their surgeon, I requested Dr.Kumar and his team be contacted at the Royal Marsden. My intended St.George's surgeon did so there and then in front of me, and Dr.Kumar insisted I be transferred asap over to his team in Chelsea. The next morning I was taken by ambulance to Chelsea, and that afternoon Dr.Kumar himself operated on me to sew my lower intestine to my liver using keyhole surgery. Everything was explained to me beforehand and I felt completely safe in their care, especially as I had had surgery there before. Surgery was a complete success, only keyhole was necessary, and I left hospital 4 days later and was back at work 7 days after that! So happy to have been so well looked after by the whole team at the Royal Marsden, and particularly that Dr.Kumar and his team made room in their insanely busy surgical rota to fit me in for an unexpected op. I can't thank them enough, or recommend their team highly enough should anyone be fortunate enough to have them dealing with their surgery.
At the request of Mr. Kumar all pre-op tests were completed by very competent & pleasant staff
Was a pleasure to meet Mr. Kumar, he was extremely knowledgeable and gave us great confidence. Explained all information in great deal which was easy to understand
Dr Kumar comes across as very knowledgeable, experienced and kind person which gives the patient great confidence and hope that we will get to the bottom of the problems. So far results are good and hopefully his prognoses of future progress will materialize. I have full confidence in Dr Kumar’s decisions.
DR Kumar was very professional, pleasant and attentive and gave me comfort before , during and after my surgery. He even visited with his team on weekends during my post surgery admission. He is a very competent and re assuring Doctor, and I am most pleased with his services. I wish him the very best.
