Sacheen is a wonderful surgeon and has resolved the problem with my upper Gastrointestinal system which was causing me pain and discomfort.
Following my diagnosis of oesophageal cancer, my consultant gastroenterologist strongly recommended referral to Mr Kumar’s team due to the complexity of the surgery required. I was able to see Mr Kumar within 48 hours. He explained the treatment plan clearly, including chemotherapy and an oesophagectomy, and arrangements were put in place immediately. While realistic about the challenges ahead, he was also reassuring and instilled confidence throughout a demanding pre-surgery period. Key decisions were made following careful consideration by Mr Kumar and his highly capable multidisciplinary team, culminating in an 11-hour operation at the Royal Marsden Hospital. Post-operative care has been exemplary, and even while on holiday Mr Kumar took the time to contact me when needed, which speaks volumes about his dedication and professionalism. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Kumar and his team to anyone requiring upper gastrointestinal surgery.
Mr Kumar looked after me as a patient with outmost professionality and friendly care throughout the process of my surgery. He explained every step of the intervention, answered patiently every question I had and followed up on my well being after surgery.
I had an excellent experience with Mr Sacheen Kumar as part of a coordinated operation involving three surgeons all completing separate procedures. From the outset, he was highly professional, approachable, and reassuring. He took the time to provide a clear and detailed overview of the procedure he would be performing and patiently answered my long list of questions without ever making me feel rushed. What truly stood out was his commitment to patient care. Mr Kumar went above and beyond to align his schedule with the other two surgeons, working late into the evening, to ensure the operation could proceed as planned. Despite heading off on holiday shortly afterwards, he still made the effort to visit me post the operation over the weekend. This level of dedication and professionalism was greatly appreciated and made a significant difference to my overall experience. I would highly recommend Mr Kumar.
Early in my diagnosis, I was advised that I would require radical surgery and that it was essential to have a surgeon I could trust implicitly. I was fortunate to find Mr Kumar, who proved from the very beginning to be exactly that person. His approach is both highly professional and reassuringly personal, and his ability to explain complex issues in a clear and understandable way has been invaluable. Working alongside an exceptional team, he has provided a level of care that far exceeded my expectations. Mr Kumar is truly an extraordinary man.
Sacheen is warm, superbly knowledgeable, precise, focused, drives confidence in his ability to treat, prepared to consult colleagues with his thoughts and seek confirmation of his thinking, empathetic and understanding. His patient focus is outstanding. Iwona his PA is dedicated and professional, knowledgeable and has the patient focus required for such a critical role between patient and consultant.
Updated regarding biopsies and provided context for what that meant regarding survivabilty. Reveiwed surgery recovery status and provided concise guidance on how to manage recovery.
