Mr Heman Joshi makes patients feel at ease, and they describe him as professional and friendly. He provides excellent, clear explanations of procedures and available treatment options. Patients report successful outcomes, rapid recovery, and minimal scarring from his surgery. His practice includes frequent procedures like colonoscopy and various hernia repairs.
Visit was very comfortable, calm and friendly, everything was explained during the procedure. The procedure itself was the most comfortable I've had compared to previous.
I had a robotic right hemicolectomy. My operation had been postponed twice for 3 weeks total during the heatwave. I was given clear instructions for preparing for surgery which I followed precisely. On the day I was kept comfortable and informed and watched over until my surgery. In Recovery I was attended to continuously by a nurse at the foot of my bed for 24 hours. I was walked around the entire Recovery ward on nurse Lorraine’s arm twice. On ward M4 I had blood pressure etc checked every 2 hours. Blood was taken and blood thinners given each day. I was asked regularly about pain levels. When my early bowel recovery surprised me (I had not eaten for 72 hours and thought it was wind) the nurses were prompt, efficient and discreet. The doctors explained what had happened (stomach acid) and told me how best to continue my progress. The clinical staff liaised well with the caterers so I did not do myself harm by eating or drinking inappropriately. I had a plan for reintroducing various foods. Once when my first choice meal had run out I was given a substitute which I rejected and my chosen 2nd choice was then delivered. The Housekeeper personally brought me the drinks I had specifically requested. I felt little pain and was free range 40 hours after surgery which suggests it must have been done expertly. I was told I could go home after 2 nights on the ward, but when I had severe diarrhoea through the night I was allowed to stay another 24 hours. From packing and leaving my bed I sat at the end of the ward for 3.5 hours and waited another 3.5 hours for my medic...

Mr Joshi repaired my inguinal hernia for me recently using robot assisted surgery. He is empathic - a good listener - and gives clear explanations of available surgical options. The operation was scheduled in a timely way, was straightforward and my recovery has been rapid and uncomplicated.
Slight side effects were pre warned by my Surgeon and so I was reassured when I experienced a little build up of fluid. No sooner than I noticed, it was clearing up.
Very nice hospital, staff are professional and friendly. Turning up early doesn't mean you get seen any earlier.
Dr Joshi was exceptionally attentive, not only to the technical aspects and procedures of my surgery but also to my emotional wellbeing. He provided reassurance, support and thoughtful guidance, giving me confidence in the positive outcome of the entire process. At every stage, whether in person, over the phone or by email, he patiently answered all of my questions and listened carefully to my concerns, ensuring that I received clear advice and support both before the operation and throughout my recovery. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Joshi. He is not only an outstanding surgeon but also a genuinely caring and compassionate person.
Not a pleasant op but couldn't fault any of the staff. My only complaint abt Addenbrooks would be the food
