Mr Derek Lang

Mr Derek Lang is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Wythenshawe Hospital. He has a special interest in knee and hip pain, sports injuries, traumatic and degenerative conditions of the hip and knee.

Mr Lang completed his undergraduate and orthopaedic training in the UK, and he undertook a fellowship in knee and sports reconstruction in Melbourne, Australia.

Mr Lang has an interest in research, and he has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals in addition to his research fellowship in bone regeneration and limb lengthening.

Mr Lang was clinical director of the department of orthopaedics and was involved in establishing the South Manchester Major Trauma Centre.

Mr Lang has published widely in the field of trauma, and knee reconstruction in young and old. He currently works at the University Hospital South Manchester department of Orthopaedics
