About Prof. CK Sinha
Professor CK Sinha is an internationally renowned Consultant Paediatric Surgeon and Paediatric Urologist with over 25 years of specialist experience. He graduated from Patna Medical College in 1987 before undertaking extensive surgical training through the London Deanery and the Institute of Medical Sciences in India. His subsequent career has included appointments at several leading paediatric and teaching hospitals, including Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, King’s College Hospital and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. He currently serves as a Consultant and Head of Department at St George’s University Hospital in London, where he also undertakes clinical leadership, appraisal and mentoring responsibilities for consultants and junior doctors.
An established contributor to paediatric surgical literature, Professor Sinha has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and 16 books. His internationally recognised publications include the Handbook of Paediatric Surgery, published by Springer in London and New York, which contributes to the wider dissemination of knowledge in paediatric surgical practice.
His clinical expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of paediatric surgical and urological conditions, with particular emphasis on minimally invasive, keyhole surgical techniques. Alongside his clinical responsibilities, Professor Sinha is Clinical Governance Lead at St George’s Medical School and a faculty member of the Royal College of Surgeons. He also holds the position of Honorary Professor of Paediatric Surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in India, reflecting his ongoing contribution to international academic collaboration and surgical education.
