Mr Andrew Pooley

Mr Andrew Pooley is a Consultant Gynaecologist practicing at New Victoria Hospital. He is highly experienced in performing key-hole surgery and covers all aspects of gynaecology. This includes hormonal conditions, abnormal smears and prolapse.

Mr Pooley qualified in Medicine in 1987 from St George's Hospital. He then completed his medical training in South West London, and then at Hammersmith Hospital under the supervision of Professor Lord Winston, followed by a year of training in Dublin.

In 1995 he completed a training fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery in Guildford, which was previously only one of 4 training centres in the whole of the UK. He then carried out research looking into endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy and heavy periods.

He was first appointed as Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 1999 at Kingston Hospital. He set up a Minimal Access Surgery service and also introduced Laparoscopic Laser Surgery for Endometriosis, and Endometrial Ablation for heavy menstrual bleeding.
