Dr Banerjee's journey in medicine began in Yorkshire, where he was born into a medical family, instilling a passion for healthcare from an early age. He pursued his education in the UK and attended school in Yorkshire before obtaining his MBChB degree from the University of Leicester. Dr Banerjee then embarked on a fulfilling career in hospital medicine and surgery in his hometown, ultimately becoming a General Practitioner in 2006.

During his tenure as a GP Partner in a heavily-deprived region with a patient base of 18,000 individuals, Dr Banerjee witnessed the stark health inequalities that persisted in society. This experience shaped his life's work, motivating him to address and combat these disparities in healthcare access. In recognition of his exceptional dedication, he was elected twice consecutively to the role of NHS Chairman for his regional commissioning group. In this capacity, he oversaw the management of a substantial £530 million budget, providing essential services to a vast population of over 300,000 patients.

The genesis of HarleyDoc arose from Dr Banerjee's desire to assist patients who prioritise their health but find themselves unsatisfied with the services offered in the public sector. The primary aim of HarleyDoc is to offer rapid access to high-quality private healthcare, often ensuring same-day appointments with carefully-vetted, highly qualified, and experienced medical professionals. By providing such expedited services, HarleyDoc seeks to reduce the strain on NHS waiting lists and contribute to enhancing overall healthcare accessibility.

HarleyDoc's reach extends far beyond the UK, as it boasts a significant clientele comprising multinational individuals who split their time between London and other international bases, such as the South of France and the Middle East. Recognising the unique needs of these clients and their families, Dr Banerjee is currently in the process of establishing HarleyDoc bases in Monaco and Dubai. These new locations will cater specifically to the bespoke healthcare requirements of this subgroup, ensuring continuity of exceptional service and care across borders.
