Mr Abhay Chopada

Mr Abhay Chopada is a well acclaimed Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon based in London. He was named one of the Top Surgical Gastroenterologists in the UK by Tatler Magazine in both 2007 and 2013.

Mr Chopada obtained his MBBS from the University of Pune, India in 1989 and his MS in Surgery from the same university in 1992. He completed his surgical training in India then moved to the UK where he began research in the angiogenesis and molecular changes of colon cancer. He was awarded a Master of Medical Science degree in Surgical Sciences for his work in 2001 by the University of London. He also completed further surgical training in the UK under the North Thames scheme at University College London Hospital in 2003.

After completing his training he was appointed as a Consultant General Surgeon at Ealing Hospital NHS Trust in 2003. He has since retired from the NHS and has exclusively practiced privately since 2017. He currently sees patients at the following private hospitals and clinics:

Mr Chopada is an accredited endoscopist and has expertise in several procedures, including: colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery.

Outside of his clinical work, Mr Chopada actively teaches medical students and is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London's School of Medicine.
