Dr Melanie McMahon

Dr Melanie McMahon is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician who specialises in community paediatrics and paediatric neurodisability. She provides compassionate, comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and young people facing developmental delays, neurodevelopmental conditions, and complex health needs. Dr McMahon takes a holistic approach to patient care, working closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams and families to ensure every child receives tailored, reassuring support.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of paediatric services, with a primary focus on child development and neurodisability. Dr McMahon has specific clinical interests in the assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management of autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, and paediatric epilepsy. In addition to managing complex physical healthcare needs, she is actively involved in child safeguarding and child and adolescent mental health services.

Dr McMahon earned her Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the University of St Andrews in 1996 before completing her medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Manchester in 1999. Following her graduation, she completed comprehensive postgraduate paediatric training, including dedicated experience in emergency medicine and higher subspecialty training in paediatric neurodisability. Dr McMahon is a professional member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, the British Medical Association, the British Association for Community Child Health, the Manchester Medical Society, and the British Academy of Childhood Disability.
