Dr Md Tanveer Adil

Dr Md Tanveer Adil is a highly accomplished Consultant General Surgeon who specialises in upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Adil is dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based surgical care. He is widely recognised for his expertise in minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques, which allow for faster recovery times and improved patient outcomes. His clinical practice focuses on delivering tailored treatment plans that address the unique health needs of each individual.

In his clinical practice, Dr Adil manages a broad spectrum of general surgical conditions, with a particular focus on complex abdominal and gastrointestinal disorders. His areas of clinical interest include advanced laparoscopic procedures, such as gallbladder removal, appendectomy, and hernia repairs. As a specialist in metabolic and bariatric surgery, he performs weight-loss procedures, including sleeve gastrectomies, and is highly skilled in managing post-operative complications. Dr Adil is also actively involved in academic research, contributing to numerous peer-reviewed publications and presenting his findings at international medical conferences.

Dr Adil completed his medical degree (MBBS) and went on to complete his surgical residency at the Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, India, qualifying in General Surgery in 2010. He furthered his academic pursuits by earning a Master of Surgery (ChM) in General Surgery with distinction from the University of Edinburgh, where he was awarded the prestigious Thomas Annandale Medal by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for being the top-performing student. He also holds a PhD and a Master of Surgery (MS). Dr Adil is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS in General Surgery), a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery (FEBS), and a Fellow in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS). Additionally, he is a Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS).
