Mr Matthew Farrant

Mr Matthew Farrant is a consultant gastroenterologist with a broad practice in general gastroenterology and hepatology, alongside specialist expertise in advanced hepatology and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

He practises at Sulis Hospital Bath and also works within the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, where he is involved in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions. His clinical work covers common and complex disorders of the digestive system, with a particular focus on liver disease, biliary pathology, and pancreatic conditions requiring advanced endoscopic intervention.

Mr Farrant graduated with his medical degree from University College London in 2012. Since qualifying, he has undertaken extensive postgraduate training in gastroenterology and hepatology, developing a reputation for delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care. His sub-specialist interests allow him to offer comprehensive assessment and treatment for patients with complex hepatobiliary disease, including those requiring ERCP.
