Dr Mark Russell

Dr Mark Russell is an accomplished Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Paediatric Intensivist dedicated to delivering exceptional care to critically ill infants, children, and young people. Specialising in paediatric critical care and acute medicine, he provides compassionate and expert medical management during urgent and complex health situations. Dr Russell works closely with multidisciplinary teams and families to ensure that young patients receive individualised, high-quality care during critical moments.

In his clinical practice, Dr Russell possesses extensive expertise across paediatric critical care medicine. His primary areas of clinical focus include emergency paediatric transport and retrieval, high dependency care, and advanced life support interventions such as extracorporeal life support. He maintains a strong clinical interest in the care of long-term intensive care patients, fluid resuscitation strategies for paediatric septic shock, and clinical practice leadership aimed at enhancing safety and outcomes for ventilated children.

Dr Russell completed his undergraduate medical education with distinction, earning a Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci) alongside a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) with Honours. Committed to medical training and academic development, he attained a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PGCME). Furthermore, Dr Russell holds professional membership as a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH).
