Mr. Laurence Clarke is a dedicated Consultant Urological Surgeon with a specialised focus on male and female urinary incontinence, reconstructive urology, urethral reconstruction, urinary tract infections, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). In addition to his specific areas of expertise, Mr. Clarke also provides comprehensive care in general urology. His practice offers a wide range of treatments tailored to meet individual patient needs, and he is skilled in performing minimally invasive procedures, including the "UroLift" procedure for prostate issues, "Bulkamid" injections for urinary incontinence, and bladder injections for symptoms related to overactive bladder.
Mr. Clarke completed his undergraduate studies in medicine and human physiological sciences at Wadham College, University of Oxford, graduating in 2004. Following this, he returned to the North West of England to complete his pre-registration house officer post and basic surgical training. In 2009, he began his urology specialist training within the North West Deanery. He achieved his FRCS (Urol) qualification in 2013 and was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Salford Royal Hospital in 2014.
Beyond his clinical practice, Mr. Clarke has developed interests in medical education at both the postgraduate and undergraduate levels. He has a strong commitment to quality improvement and medical leadership. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and a Diploma in Leading Healthcare Improvements. His contributions in the field of healthcare improvement have led to several quality improvement initiatives and service development programs, resulting in his recognition with a level 1 clinical excellence award.
Throughout his career, Mr. Clarke has held various leadership positions at Salford Royal. These roles have included Associate Director of Postgraduate Medical Education and Surgical Tutor from 2015 to 2018, as well as Clinical Director for the Salford Urology service from 2018 to 2021. Currently, he serves as the Chair of the Division of Surgery and Perioperative Care for Salford Royal.

Very short wait to get an appointment. Excellent communication skills - very polite, friendly and put me at ease. Felt v reassured after the appointment and felt I could ask anything.
