Mr Matthew Liew’s patient interactions are professional, friendly, clear, informative, and supportive. He performs successful Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) procedures. These resolve significant urinary problems, improve quality of life, and allow catheter use. Mr Liew also provides clear explanations for diverse treatments like kidney stone removal or bladder cancer management, which builds patient confidence and results in positive outcomes for prostatic health.
I would thoroughly recommend Mr Liew for Holep. I had mine 8 weeks ago at the Manchester Spire. The operation went very smoothly with little to no pain afterwards and it has completely cured my large urine retention. Mr Liew was very courteous and helpful at all times and is clearly a top expert in his field. The nursing care at the Spire Manchester was also exemplary.
This was my first meeting with Mr Liew. He was very welcoming and friendly. There were two very clear purposes from the meeting for Mr Liew which put me at ease quickly: 1. He does not take any of the information he has been given for granted. He will do his own tests/ investigations before he will recommend the way forward. 2. He clearly wants your (the patients) input and required outcomes before he will recommend a way forward. These show he is patient centric - a very good first consultation
Mr Liew was professional but with an easy relaxing manner.
Very professional put my mind at rest explained everything to me very good
A pleasant experience.Rather a lot of form filling on I pad which not working properly. D
I had considered HoLEP for some time, but put myself off by imagining that the recovery would be slow and painful. After a failed second Prostate Arteries Embolisation, and when urinary retention had compelled me to adopt self-catheterisation, I knew it was time to reconsider HoLEP. I had a meeting with Matthew Liew at the Spire Manchester hospital. His friendliness and professionalism put me at ease straight away and gave me the confidence I needed. He has performed hundreds of these procedures before, and has an excellent reputation. As things turned out, my fears were groundless. Recovery was quick and discomfort was minimal, easily dealt with with Paracetamol. I wish I had done it before. It has transformed my life. I no longer have any urinary problems at all, indeed "flow" is now just like it was when I was a teenager. I am very grateful to Matthew Liew and his team, and the nursing staff at Spire Manchester hospital.
Well explained. Answered my questions, which was important to me. Great result with the procedure.
Mr Liew promised after the operation I would pee like a twenty five year old and he wasn’t wrong! Very happy.
I turned up for a HOLEP procedure, very conflicted about proceeding with it. Mr Liew addressed my concerns in an unhurried way - and I went ahead with the op. I am very appreciative of his skill and warmth.
Mr Liew clearly explained both operations I had for my kidney stone and made sure I understood what had happened. He also explained what the stone was made of and gave me useful advice on what I should do and avoid in the future. He was very professional, helpful and easy to talk to.
