Ms Krupa Mistry

Krupa Mistry is a highly skilled and dedicated Optometrist with nearly a decade of experience in the field. Since beginning her career in 2015, she completed her hospital pre-registration year at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) and has continued to contribute to the hospital as a part-time Optometrist while also practicing as a community optometrist in North Warwickshire.

In February 2024, Ms Mistry stepped into her new role as an Advanced Clinical Optometrist in Cataract and Cornea at St Thomas’. Her expertise extends to a range of enhanced services, including eye casualty, corneal, paediatric, contact lens, and cataract clinics. She is also a dedicated mentor, having served as a principal supervisor for pre-registration optometrists.

Ms Mistry is committed to continuous professional development, which is evident in her pursuit of advanced education and training. She completed the Alcon Scholarship in 2021 and has been a clinical supervisor at Aston University for three years. Currently enrolled in the Doctor of Optometry program at Aston University, she has studied modules in Myopia and Refractive Surgery, and has earned professional certificates in Independent Prescribing, Glaucoma, and Paediatrics. She is currently undertaking her doctoral research work in a rare disease that can effect the cornea called Cystinosis.

Her dedication to the field has been widely recognised, including being named a finalist in the ‘Clinical Leader of the Future’ category at the Optician Awards 2023. She has written and presented educational training (known as CPD) for Optometrists in the UK. Additionally, she has served as a committee member on the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Optical Committee, demonstrating her commitment to advancing the profession and supporting her peers.
