Dr Jonathan Wyllie

Dr Jonathan Wyllie is a distinguished Consultant Neonatologist and Paediatrician who provides comprehensive medical care for premature infants, newborns, and young children. His primary clinical focus encompasses neonatal intensive care, paediatric cardiology, and foetal cardiology. Known for his reassuring and child-centred approach, Dr Wyllie works closely with families to offer expert diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing support for infants requiring specialised medical attention.

Beyond his direct clinical practice, Dr Wyllie is widely recognised for his pioneering work in neonatal life support and emergency resuscitation. As a Professor of Neonatology and Paediatrics, he actively engages in medical education and clinical research, focusing on neonatal haemodynamics and critical newborn care. He has played a central role in formulating national and international resuscitation guidelines, helping to establish rigorous standards of care that safeguard the health of newborn infants.

Dr Wyllie completed his medical education at the University of Manchester, qualifying with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1986, alongside a Bachelor of Science with Honours. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health as well as a Fellow of the European Resuscitation Council. He holds leadership roles within the Resuscitation Council UK and actively participates in international advisory bodies, including the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation Neonatal Task Force and the Paediatric Cardiology Special Interest Group.
