Mr Ibnauf Suliman

Mr Ibnauf Suliman is a colorectal and general surgeon consultant at Hadley Wood Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital.

He has specialist interests in:

• Minimally invasive surgery
• Colorectal cancer
• Inflammatory bowel disease
• Proctology
• Elective and emergency general surgery

He completed advanced surgical training at the North East Thames rotation at University College, the Royal Free and the Royal London Hospitals, before undertaking three fellowships based in Sydney, the Royal Marsden, and the Royal London Hospitals, furthering his training during his years as a specialist registrar.

Following this, he joined the Royal Free London, Barnet, and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust as a consultant.

During his time at University College London and the Babraham Institute in Cambridge, Mr Suliman continued to be active in the field of medical research and and spent time researching novel bowel cancer screening methods, in every effort to improve outcomes for his patients.

As part of his busy clinical practice, he is the current chair of the colorectal cancer multidisciplinary team and has a strong interest in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Additionally, he is the local governance and audit lead and has managerial responsibilities. He is also involved in the education of junior surgeons and is an examiner at UCL Medical School.
