Dr. Holan Liang

Dr. Holan Liang is a highly qualified Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Consultant Paediatric Neuropsychiatrist specialising in the assessment, diagnosis, and clinical management of complex neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions in young people. Working across both specialist national healthcare services and private practice, Dr. Liang offers holistic, evidence-based care tailored to the individual needs of children, teenagers, and their families. Her clinical practice addresses a broad range of emotional, behavioural, and neurodevelopmental challenges, supporting young patients through comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and dedicated therapeutic care plans.

Dr. Liang completed her medical degree and studied experimental psychology at the University of Cambridge, qualifying with her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BChir) in 1999 and subsequently attaining her Master of Arts (MA Cantab) in 2000. She completed her postgraduate specialist training in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at leading psychiatric teaching centres in London, receiving her Certificate of Completion of Training in 2010. She became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2005 and has previously served as an elected member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Faculty Executive Committee.

Her areas of clinical expertise focus on neurodevelopmental disorders, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Tourette's syndrome, tic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and intellectual disabilities. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Liang is actively involved in clinical research, including clinical trials and international genetic studies. As an Assistant Research Professor and Honorary Associate Professor, she regularly teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students, contributes to academic journals, and authors books and articles on child development and emotional well-being.

Combining clinical excellence with a compassionate and reassuring approach, Dr. Liang works closely with families, schools, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver supportive, child-centred care. Her practice is dedicated to helping children and young people thrive by providing clear guidance, early intervention, and structured support tailored to their unique strengths and needs.
