Miss Heena Patel

Miss Heena Patel is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon. They studied medicine at St. George's, University of London. Their higher surgical training commenced in London and the North East Thames region, with further specialist experience at St. Mark's Hospital, London, Queen Alexandra Hospital (robotic rectal cancer surgery) and the national Ethicon Endo-Surgery Laparoscopic Colorectal Fellowship at Frimley Park Hospital. Miss Patel also embarked on a two-year period of full-time research at the Colorectal Cancer Unit, St. Mark's Hospital which led to an MD awarded in 2009.

Miss Patel has gained extensive experience in a range of procedures including laparoscopic TME, pouch surgery and complex fistula repair. They also completed two years of complex and simple inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) surgery at various tertiary referral centres such as St. Mark's and The Royal London Hospital.

Miss Patel received the national Moynihan medal for original research at The Association of Surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland in 2008.
