Mr Ahmed Elshaer

Mr. Ahmed Elshaer serves as a Consultant General and Upper GI Surgeon in Yorkshire, with his practice based at the Yorkshire Clinic, Nuffield Leeds and NHS base at Bradford Royal Infirmary. He is also Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Leeds and Assistant Professor at Cairo University.

His expertise includes laparoscopic surgery for gastrointestinal diseases, gallbladder surgery, various types of hernias (laparoscopic and open), anti-reflux surgery, diaphragmatic and hiatus hernias, achalasia and oesophageal motility disorders, weight loss surgery (Bariatric surgery), gastric cancer, oesophageal cancer, biliary and pancreatic diseases, bowel surgery, splenic surgery, trauma and acute emergency surgery, as well as lumps and bumps. Mr. Elshaer is proficient in robotic advanced surgery with wide experience in robotic surgery for Upper GI diseases.

He is a member of several esteemed professional organisations, including the Royal College of Surgeons of England, European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery of Great Britain and Ireland (AUGIS), British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS), International Federation for Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic disorders (IFSO), Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland (ALSGBI), International Society for Diseases of The Esophagus (ISDE), and Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI).

Mr. Elshaer has published numerous research papers, along with being a reviewer for many high-impact journals. He is also an approved trainer at GMC and faculty member in many courses of Royal College of Surgeons.
