Dr Hannah Mechie

Dr Hannah Mechie is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician who specialises in delivering high-quality healthcare to children and young people. Operating within the field of Paediatrics and Paediatric Emergency Medicine, she is committed to offering reassuring, patient-centred care tailored to the unique medical needs of infants, children, and adolescents. Working alongside multidisciplinary healthcare teams, Dr Mechie focuses on delivering evidence-based assessment and supportive medical care during acute health encounters.

Her clinical interests cover a broad spectrum of acute paediatric conditions, emergency presentations, and child health promotion. Dr Mechie is particularly passionate about quality improvement in emergency care settings and the development of accessible health education resources for parents and carers. She has also led clinical research initiatives focused on enhancing healthcare delivery, including evaluating breastfeeding education and support provided by paediatric professionals.

Dr Mechie completed her foundational medical studies at the University of St Andrews School of Medicine, graduating with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Medicine, before earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Manchester in 2012. Demonstrating a broad academic interest, she later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Law at BPP University. Dr Mechie is an active member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, serving as a College Tutor to support, teach, and mentor medical trainees in paediatric care.
