Mr George Gibson

Dr George Gibson is a highly experienced Optometrist with over 15 years of experience Graduating from Aston University in 2003 with a 1st Class Honours degree, he swiftly qualified in 2004 and obtained his PhD in 2008. He also holds a Diploma in Therapeutics (Independent Prescribing) and professional certifications in glaucoma and medical retina. Dr Gibson is also a Fellow of the College of Optometrists.

Currently practicing at independent optometrist Cooper & Leatherbarrow in Darlington, Dr Gibson brings a wealth of expertise to his role. His dedication to the profession is reflected in his active involvement as a committee member of the Durham Local Optical Committee (LOC), where he contributes to the development and enhancement of optical services in the region.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Gibson holds the position of Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of The College of Optometrists.
