Dr Anish Jindal

Dr Jindal has over 20 years of experience in optometry and ophthalmology, working across tertiary care, academia, and clinical research. He currently serves as a Consultant Optometrist at the Phoenix Hospital Group and Principal Optometrist in Glaucoma at Moorfields Eye Hospital (MEH). He has served as Deputy Programme Director for the MSc Ophthalmology and Optometry Advanced Clinical Practice programmes and Joint Associate Director for Education at UCL-MEH. He was the first optometrist to achieve Associate Professor and Principal Fellowship status in UCL’s history, he also leads MSc modules on ocular emergencies and research.

He has gained international recognition from the College of Optometrists as a Fellow that recognises excellence in clinical care, research and education. He also works with the College of Optometrists as a National Subject Matter Expert in Glaucoma and a committee member of the independent prescribing IP common final assessment, where he was part of the first 50 optometrists in the UK to gain Independent Prescribing status in 2011, and has lectured extensively in this field. He is passionate about education and research that include dry eyes, primary angle closure glaucoma detection and management, artificial intelligence in clinical decision making and advanced clinical practice, in particular the area of utilising technology and education to improve clinical services in both primary and secondary care, where he has published and presented over 100 peer-reviewed papers/posters/lectures in these fields during and post his PhD that have supported national and international clinical guidelines: Anish Jindal | Publications | University College London

Whether managing routine or complex eye conditions such as dry eyes, glaucoma, or urgent eye presentations, Dr Jindal is committed to delivering compassionate, expert care and treatment based on the latest clinical evidence. His goal is to ensure that every patient feels informed, reassured, and confident in their treatment journey.

Dr Jindal offers a range of dry eye and blepharitis procedures, of which several are not available on the NHS. Procedures offered include:
