Dr Geoffrey Debelle

Dr Geoffrey Debelle is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician specialising in General Paediatrics and Community Paediatrics. Focused on delivering compassionate and comprehensive medical care, he is committed to supporting the health, growth, and overall well-being of infants, children, and young people. His approach combines clinical expertise with a reassuring, family-centred ethos, ensuring that young patients receive tailored care while their families are provided with clear guidance and support.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr Debelle has focused heavily on Community Paediatrics, child protection, and child safeguarding. His clinical interests encompass managing child maltreatment, paediatric neurodisability, child injury prevention, and public health initiatives designed to protect vulnerable children. In addition to his direct clinical practice, he has contributed extensively to national and international safeguarding training, working to elevate child protection standards and develop clinical guidelines across health services.

Dr Debelle qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS) before completing advanced specialist training in Paediatrics. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH). In recognition of his exceptional contributions to child health and safeguarding, he was also awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. Over the course of his career, he has held prominent roles including Designated Doctor for Safeguarding and has served on the RCPCH Child Protection Standing Committee.
