My child felt dismissed by Dr Gandluru. Very disappointed given she was appointed to my child’s case as she was classed an expert in assessing teenage girls.

Thank you for sharing this — we’re very sorry to hear that your child felt dismissed during their appointment with Dr. Gandluru. We completely understand how upsetting and disappointing this must be, especially given the expectations around specialist care for teenage girls. Every young person deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported during an assessment. If that wasn’t your child’s experience, we sincerely apologise. Your feedback will be shared with our clinical leadership team so this can be reviewed carefully. If you would like us to look into this further or formally review your child’s appointment, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at hello@harleymindcare.com . We would welcome the opportunity to understand more and ensure appropriate follow-up.

It would really help to recieve more accurate information on the assessment procedure before attending. Details such as if parent remains with child, if appointment also needs a seperate parent meeting and an indicator of when diagnosis would be made. It didn’t really tie up with pdf sent on welcome email. Would be better to schedule in parent appointment at a similar time as first child assessment appointment, or/ and make it clear this is the procedure. Phoning up Harley mind care prior to attending did not help me to understand & actually conflicted with what happened at appointment.

Thank you for your feedback, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify. In most cases, once a diagnosis is reached, the clinician will schedule a follow-up appointment. This typically happens after the full report has been generated and all supporting documents and assessment forms have been reviewed. The follow-up ensures there’s time to explain the diagnosis thoroughly, answer any questions, and discuss next steps, including treatment or support options. We understand how important it is to know what to expect, and we’re working to improve how this is communicated from the outset. If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch with us at hello@harleymindcare.com .
