Dr Fergus Chedgy

Dr Fergus Chedgy is a highly dedicated Consultant Gastroenterologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for a wide range of digestive health conditions. With extensive expertise in investigating and managing complex gastrointestinal disorders, he is committed to offering clear diagnostic insights, tailored treatment strategies, and supportive patient care. Dr Chedgy works closely with individuals to manage distressing digestive symptoms, improve overall gut health, and ensure effective long-term disease management.

Specialising in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, Dr Chedgy has clinical expertise in the early detection and management of gastrointestinal neoplasia. His practice covers a broad scope of gastroenterological and hepatological conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux, chronic diarrhoea, and liver diseases. He performs a variety of specialist endoscopic procedures, including oesophagogastroduodenoscopy, transnasal endoscopy, endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic submucosal dissection, and bowel cancer screening examinations. Beyond his direct patient care, he serves as a Training Programme Director and regular instructor on national endoscopy courses.

Dr Chedgy earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree. He completed structured postgraduate medical training in gastroenterology, which included dedicated out-of-programme fellowship training in advanced endoscopic techniques. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and actively participates in national educational initiatives and professional medical organisations, ensuring his practice incorporates current clinical standards and innovations.
