Dr Li is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and was appointed to his current NHS consultant post at Worthing Hospital in 2004. He started practicing at BMI Goring Hall Hospital in 2006.  He is the founder and clinical lead for inflammatory bowel disease services for Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and lead for endoscopy training for Worthing Hospital.

He is actively recruiting to clinical trials in Worthing Hospital that reflect his clinical interests. Dr Li is involved in multiple studies looking at genetic and therapeutic aspects of inflammatory bowel disease; safety of biologic therapies in inflammatory bowel disease; treatment of iron deficiency; endoscopic assessment of Barrett's oesophagus and new ways of diagnosing gastrointestinal malignancy. He continues to write and referee articles which are published in peer reviewed journals.

This review is on behalf of my very elderly mother Jean Pearson who saw Dr Li recently for the embarrassing condition of bowel incontinence. She found him very approachable and was very grateful for the kind and understanding way he discussed her problem and for the subsequent referral.

Dr Li is fantastic, from beginning to end of consultation. A wonderful smile, a kind reassuring word BEFORE we get into the consultation room! I was nervous due to pain and his open approach with seeking understanding is what made me feel I was with the right doctor. Now, after all the investigations he explained and listened to my views too. Between the both of us now we have a plan. His secretary, Leighann, is wonderful too moving things forward and easing all the processes.
