Mr Feiran Wu is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in degenerative and sports disorders of the hand, wrist and elbow. As a purely upper limb specialist, he is able to offer a complete and individualised service utilising the latest techniques including arthroscopic surgery (keyhole) and wide-awake surgery.
Mr Wu graduated in medicine from Cambridge University and since then has pursued his orthopaedic and specialist training in multiple distinguished specialist centres in the West Midlands and the UK. In 2018, he was awarded the prestigious British Orthopaedic Association overseas fellowship to attain further specialist skills in wrist arthroscopy and hand injury surgery in centres of excellence in Asia.
Since 2019 he has been a consultant in orthopaedics and trauma at University Hospitals Birmingham, treating patients with both elective and traumatic upper extremity conditions.
Mr Wu offers a number of specialist treatments, including keyhole carpal tunnel release, the latest wide-awake techniques for Dupuytren's surgery, tendon repair, and arthritis treatment. He also offer wrist arthroscopy, solutions for sports injuries, platelet-rich plasma stem-cell therapy, and management of tennis and golfer's elbow.
He is actively involved in clinical research and has authored numerous articles on the management of degenerative and sports injuries of the arm. He is regular speaker on international conferences and is an editor of The Journal of Hand Surgery, the leading European journal for hand specialists.

Great experience with MR Wu, professional throughout and did a great job

I went to see Mr Wu For an acute case of carpal tunnel syndrome in both my wrists. After the consultation, which consisted of a very thorough examination, and detailed explanation of all the options open to me, I opted for surgery. Over two separate visits, Mr Wu operated on my wrists, and cured my carpal tunnel symptoms. The service I received was exemplary. From the pre-operation review, right through to post operative consultation, I was always kept informed, and everything was clearly explained. I was delighted with the service I received from Mr Wu, and I highly recommend him.

From my initial consultation with Dr Wu I felt fully informed, he didn’t actually recommend surgery from the outset and only when I went a 3rd time he advised it’s now time. I was made to feel comfortable through all of the decision making and I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome, the surgery went better than expected and I’m more than happy with the outcome.

Mr Wu explained everything from the first appointment and gave the treatment options available with the expected outcomes of each which gave us the ability to make an informed decision. From then on he and his team kept us informed right up to and including the procedure and then the aftercare. Completely satisfied with the whole process from start to finish

Following months of discomfort I saw Mr Wu and he clearly explained what he thought the issue was, arranged a scan and follow up appointment during my first visit. I received a treatment at this appointment and after only a few days was pain free for the first time in many months. Very impressed with his easy going manner and professionalism
