Dr Euan McLaughlin

Dr Euan McLaughlin is an experienced Consultant General Surgeon and Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon who specialises in diagnosing and treating a broad spectrum of general surgical and digestive tract conditions. With a strong commitment to patient-centred care, he provides individualised treatment plans for patients requiring both routine and complex surgical interventions. His clinical approach emphasises thorough investigation, clear communication, and the implementation of modern surgical techniques to optimise patient outcomes and support recovery.

In his clinical practice, Dr McLaughlin focuses on upper gastrointestinal surgery, encompassing both complex benign conditions and surgical care for upper gastrointestinal cancers. His clinical scope covers the management of oesophageal and gastric conditions, including gastric ulcers, oesophageal disorders, and giant hiatus hernia repairs. Additionally, he performs emergency general surgery and specialised abdominal hernia repairs, utilising minimally invasive surgical procedures and enhanced recovery protocols to ensure safe, comfortable, and effective care.

Dr McLaughlin completed his primary medical education at the University of Manchester, graduating with his medical degree in 2000. He subsequently earned a PhD and achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS).
