Dr Etienne Ciantar

Dr Etienne Ciantar is a dedicated Consultant Obstetrician who specialises in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, with focused expertise in obstetric haematology, maternal medicine, and high-risk maternity care. Committed to providing reassuring, patient-centred care, Dr Ciantar supports women throughout pregnancy, labour, and the postnatal period. His practice centres on managing complex medical conditions during pregnancy, ensuring that expectant mothers receive safe, tailored, and evidence-based care.

In his clinical practice, Dr Ciantar manages specialised care for pregnant women with blood disorders, including thrombotic and haemostatic conditions, sickle cell disease, thalassaemia, red cell membrane disorders, and immune thrombocytopenia. He also provides comprehensive care for women with gestational diabetes as well as pre-existing type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Furthermore, Dr Ciantar is closely involved in foetal monitoring and antenatal surveillance, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to manage high-risk pregnancies and optimise outcomes for both mother and child.

Dr Etienne Ciantar completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and subsequently undertook specialty training in obstetrics and gynaecology in West Yorkshire. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education. Dr Ciantar is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He maintains active professional memberships with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the British Maternal & Foetal Medicine Society, and the British Society for Haematology.
