Dr Emily Whitehouse

Dr Emily Whitehouse is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician specialising in comprehensive child health and paediatric neurology. Working closely with families, she provides compassionate, individualised care tailored to the unique physical, developmental, and emotional needs of children and young people. Dr Whitehouse focuses on delivering thorough clinical evaluations and reassuring guidance to ensure that young patients and their carers feel fully supported throughout their healthcare journey.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of paediatric services, with a specialised focus on paediatric neuromuscular conditions, including Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Dr Whitehouse is deeply engaged in clinical research, evaluating emerging therapies and participating in clinical trials to advance treatment options for children living with complex, long-term conditions. Her approach integrates evidence-based medicine with family-centred care, aiming to optimise functional outcomes and improve overall quality of life.

Dr Whitehouse earned her undergraduate medical degree alongside an intercalated degree in psychology from the University of Edinburgh. Following her foundation training, she completed specialist higher training in paediatrics, achieving her Certificate of Completion of Training in general paediatrics. She also holds a Master of Science in Global Health Policy, which informs her holistic approach to healthcare delivery and child wellbeing.
