Dr Eleanor Balmer

Dr Eleanor Balmer is a highly dedicated Consultant General Paediatrician who specialises in providing comprehensive care for infants, children, and young people. With a strong clinical focus on acute and ambulatory paediatrics, she is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care that addresses both immediate and long-term health needs. Her reassuring and professional approach ensures that young patients and their families feel supported throughout their medical journey.

Dr Balmer completed her medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Manchester, qualifying in 2000. She subsequently undertook her specialist training in paediatrics within the North West region. Driven by a passion for teaching, she also obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in work-based Medical Education (PGCME). Dr Balmer is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH).

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Balmer holds significant leadership roles in medical education, serving as an Associate Hospital Dean and Undergraduate Programme Lead. She is actively involved in clinical safety and emergency care, serving as an Advanced Paediatric Life Support Instructor. Furthermore, she contributes her expertise as a member of both the Paediatric Sepsis Committee and the Children's Acute Response Committee, working continuously to improve paediatric care standards.
