Dr Michael Beckles

Dr Michael Beckles is a Consultant Respiratory and General Physician working within the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He also sees patients in private clinics across London. Tatler named him "one of the top respiratory physicians" in their Guide to Private Practice in 2013.

Dr Beckles began his medical education at the University of Manchester, graduating with his Bachelor's in Medicine and Surgery alongside an intercalated Bachelor's degree. He went on to do his foundation and specialist training in hospitals in Manchester and London. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 2006. He has held several managerial positions, including leadership roles in acute medicine, bronchoscopy, and lung cancer. He also completed the Cambridge Chest Medicine Course at King's College in

Cambridge in 2022. He is currently the Chair of the Wellington Hospital Respiratory Group and former co-Chair of the Harley Street Clinic Lung Cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT). He is the former President of the Respiratory Medicine Section at the Royal Society of Medicine.

Dr Beckles sees patients with various lung conditions, including lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, pleural disease, pneumothorax, asbestos-related lung disease, COPD, sarcoidosis, covid-19 infections, long-covid, breathlessness and cough. He has expertise in interventional bronchoscopy and is a skilled fibre-optic bronchoscopist.

Dr Beckles is an excellent teacher, actively engaging in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has also made significant contributions to international and national guidelines on the management of lung cancer.
