“I initially contacted Dr. Latheef in April this year, not long into the first lockdown - I emailed his secretary who got back to me the same evening and I had my consultation very soon after this. After the initial meeting, I already knew contacting Dr. Latheef was absolutely the best decision I could have made, and I was looking forward to getting started on treatment for my acne. We agreed I would complete a 6 month course of Isotretinoin for my acne on my face and body. I had been on several varying treatments (oral and topical) in the past - none of which provided permanent results. My acne was at its worst this year, which in turn hugely affected my self confidence. I would decline social invites as I felt too embarrassed about my skin, and even if I left the house to walk one minute I would put makeup on to hide my scars. I would check my skin in any reflective surface around me and check how my acne looked in certain lights and angles. This emotional exhaustion I felt I thought could only be understood by others who share my problem- but Dr. Latheef proved me wrong. The extent of emotional support I received from him, and his interest in how I was progressing not just on the outside, but on the inside further proved coming to him was worth it. Prior to my Isotretinoin course, I spent days researching others' experiences and advice. While this was somewhat useful, Dr. Latheef reassured me I would have no issues and put me on safe dosages, where side effects were extremely minimal; but I still reached my true skin goals. I now leave the house without makeup almost every day, as I feel it is not necessary anymore. I run in public without fearing people looking at my face, and do not open my phone camera every minute to check my skin. I feel like a weight has been taken off my shoulders, and I can continue doing every day things now without constant worries and intruding thoughts regarding my skin. This is all thanks to Dr. Latheef; his continuous support and checking in on my wellbeing physically and emotionally is not something I could have done this journey without. He had been awarded the Best Consultant Dermatologist in the UK title recently; very fitting and thoroughly deserved! My questions, concerns, and issues, no matter how small they were, were always addressed and I was never left looking for answers elsewhere. For anyone who shares my issues and feelings, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Latheef. I feel so lucky to have had this experience with him helping me along the way. He will absolutely ensure any patient, regardless of the skin concern, has the best experience with treatment and sees the permanent results they dream of achieving. I hope this review reflects how grateful I am for my experience and inspires people to start their skin journey with the right dermatologist. “

I developed Fordyce Spots/Pearly Penile Papules in the 1990’s, whilst in my late teens. At the time I had no idea what they were and I suffered with them for a couple of years before plucking up the courage to visit my GP. My GP incorrectly told me that what I had was perfectly normal hair follicles and that I had nothing to worry about. I believed what I had been told and carried on as normal. It wasn’t until I was in my mid 40’s and technological advances in internet search engines that I finally realised that I had been misinformed. Intrigued to see if anything could be done, I booked myself another appointment with my GP. My GP confirmed that I had indeed got perfectly normal and harmless Fordyce Spots/ Pearly Penile Papules and that they are also very common but wasn’t sure whether I should be referred to a Urologist or a Dermatologist. He referred me to a Urologist. I attended my appointment with the Urologist who reassured me that the condition is normal and very common but told me that he couldn’t provide me with the cosmetic treatment I wanted and that I would need a Dermatologist for this. This is when I was referred to Dr Latheef! I met with Dr Latheef and I was excited to learn that there are various cosmetic treatments for the condition. We agreed to proceed with treatments of Cryotherapy. After four treatments the Fordyce Spots were barely visible and the skin was smooth with no visible signs of scarring. There were a few stubborn spots remaining and these were surgically and painlessly removed under a local anaesthetic. There are absolutely no visible signs whatsoever that the more stubborn spots were ever there!!! I cannot thank Dr Latheef enough. He has certainly improved the overall cosmetic appearance and I have a new found self confidence that had been lacking beforehand. I have absolutely no problems whatsoever in recommending Dr Latheef's services.

I visited 2 GPs in the UK, a specialist in Morocco and then the MEDIPOL hospital in Istanbul, Turkey; for my skin condition and constant itching. With many wrong diagnosis, in a last ditch effort, i googled and found Dr Latheef in Leeds. During a 10 minute consultation and within a minute of visually assessing my skin, he identified the condition to be Physical Urticaria and prescribed me medication which relieved the physical and mental torture i endured for 5 months. Dr Latheef is not only polite and kind but a true headmaster in his field and i would highly recommend him to anyone suffering skin problems.

After having a large keloid growing on my ear, I decided to get in contact with Dr Latheef. The first appointment was amazing, he thoroughly talked me through the whole procedure and answer all my questions, he wasn’t in a rush to get rid of me or did not rush the appointment at all, he listened and was very understanding about all my issues. After having the consultation appointment, he said he could do the procedure within a few days, which was amazing and such great service! He was very supportive throughout the whole process, making sure his secretary was always in contact with me, the results are amazing, I am so pleased and over the moon by the job he did because before I used to get very self-conscious but now there is nothing to worry about at all. He even made sure not to rush the procedure and ensured to keep the shape of my ear which was perfect. Dr Latheef is honestly amazing, I cannot fault him anyway possible, he is the kindest gentleman you’ll ever meet, be sure to use his services as he is very well experienced and dealt with many keloids before!

    Eczema (atopic dermatitis)
10 years of eczema, however the last 3 years has been unbearable. Unable to shower, hug/touch my husband and unable to move without bleeding. My nipples were so bad, each time i moved or took my bra off the whole nipple would rip off (this happened daily) i would cry knowing what was about to happen and the pain that was about to follow. I was unable to do my job (dance teacher) as i was unable to move. Each time i moved my skin would rub against clothes, leaving me having to just say the steps instead of actually dancing them. I used to sit naked on a seat at home trying not to touch anything around me. Since seeing the friendly/helpful Dr Latheef i have my LIFE back. I have had 3 showers (the first 3 in years) i still have to be careful with what i touch and what i do, and using creams etc... however i can now do normal things. Weather that be hug my husband for a few moments before i roll over to sleep. Or actually doing my actual job and being able to dance and move without bleeding and cracking. My nipples have completely healed, no cracking, leaking which means i can take clothes on and off without ripping the whole nipple off. I am sat in clothes typing this with no pain, which feels weird and like a dream. Dr Latheef has been so supportive, understanding and given me faith back in Medicine. I still only shower occasionally, and hug my husband for tiny amounts, and apply creams all the time.. but i have some sort of normality back. And the pain and constant itching has gone! i have seen many dermatologists throughout the years all across the country and not ONE has been able to help me! but DR Latheef has given me life back. THANK YOU. what shall i do first, shower, dance, or hug people?

I saw Dr Latheef in February after suffering from facial swelling, redness and sore eyes. A condition my GP was unable to diagnose. I was loosing my confidence and my mental health was at an all time low. I arranged an appointment to see Dr latheef at the Nuffield Hospital in Leeds. Dr latheef spent alot of time listening to me and answered all my questions. I was put at ease straight away and Dr latheef was confident he could help me. Dr latheef took his time to fully explain each stage of the process. Following the advice of Dr latheef, further appointments were arrange for the following week for patch testing to take place. Dr latheef was then able to do a full diagnosis. A couple of months have now passed and I wanted to share how delighted I am with the results. I feel like my skin has been given a new lease of life! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a smart, humble and compassionate doctor. I am so pleased I came to see you.

    Dermatitis
After many years/months seeing numerous GP’s and even a private specialist regarding dermatitis on my face I wasn’t getting anywhere. It was such a big relief coming across Dr Latheef. After a course of 3 months treatment (mixture of tablets and cream) within afew days I could see a huge difference. Dr Latheef cleared my face and it’s the best it’s ever looked. Dr Latheef is the best dermatologist, he is kind and understanding and puts you at ease. Right from the word go he reassured me that he could find a solution not only in the short term but also the long term. I would always recommend Dr Latheef to friends and family. He is my go to dermatologist without a doubt and brought my confidence back.

I had begun to notice dark spots and increasing pigmentation on both sides of my face for a few years before I saw Dr Latheef. He diagnosed melasma and after after a short course of treatment, the difference in my skin has been amazing. The melasma has gone and I don’t need to wear make up to cover up any discolouration. Before the treatment with Dr Latheef, I was contemplating invasive and expensive laser treatment which I am happy to say I don’t need anymore. Everyone I know wants to know what I’m using and I’ve recommended Dr Latheef many times. He’s brilliant !

I decided to fly from Dubai to Leeds to see Dr Latheef following a number of recommendations from friends and colleagues in Dubai who had been to see him already. I have been suffering with severe blistering rashes that covered most of my body and affected my business and personal life causing severe stress and anxiety because I could never know when the next flare would happen and destroy my day! Having had no improvement having seen local Dermatologists, prescribing me antibiotics that never really worked I finally decided to make the trip to Leeds to see Dr Latheef. At the consultation he was very understanding of my condition, carried out some tests and confirmed the diagnosis and gave me a very clear treatment plan and within a few weeks my condition started to clear Alhamdullilah . I am planning to fly back for my follow up visit but wanted to write this to say a big thanks to Dr Latheef for giving me a fresh start in life!

Life changing results! Having had persistent body acne and PLE throughout my teens and twenties I have tried any and all remedies I could find over the years without much success. I recently decided to speak with Dr Latheef to see what he could do, and 2 months into the prescribed treatments my once very visible acne and PLE rash has gone. This is the first time in my adult life I do not have any sign of acne, and my only regret is not speaking to Dr Latheef sooner! Exceptionally knowledgeable and personable doctor that I can't recommend enough. Thanks again!

We came to see Dr Latheef as our 11 month old son was suffering severely with eczema on his body and face. We had been to see our GP on numerous occasions but to no avail. He had also stopped eating and sleeping and was in real discomfort. On having a consultation with Dr Latheef he put our concerns to rest and we were prescribed a few different steroid creams with a treatment plan of what to use and when. At first we were a little hesitant about using steroids - particularly on our sons face. However we were assured that as long as we used them correctly there was nothing for us to worry about. We did as Dr Latheef instructed and within 2 days our sons skin had cleared. We kept to the treatment plan to ensure we used the creams in a safe way and now his skin is doing great. He was back to his happy self within a few days and eating and sleeping again! Would highly recommend Dr Latheef.

I had suffered with a skin condition on my face for a few years. It would flare up with no specific triggers; my face would become itchy and uncomfortable; it was seriously affecting my self confidence. Dr Latheef quickly diagnosed two different conditions, gave me a schedule of treatment that I followed religously, and within days I was seeing a very positive result. Now, almost a year down the line, my skin issues are history. The schedule of treatment has long finished, and I manage my skin with UV protection. Confidence restored; skin calm; an easily managed long term solution. I highly recommend Dr Latheef. Thank you, Faheem. One very happy patient.

I visited Dr Latheef whilst suffering from severe Alopecia Areata which affected hair all over my body and left me with shattered confidence and a feeling of desperation having been neglected by other health care professionals. Dr Latheef's prescribed treatments have worked perfectly, and i am very much on the road to recovery. However, and arguably more than that, he was kind and compassionate in a very difficult situation and gave me hope and reassurance. He listened and understood when it seemed no other healthcare professional could or would and offered the follow up support and help needed. I cannot recommend Dr Latheef highly enough to anyone who is suffering with similar conditions. Thank you.

I had suffered from persistent acne since I was 12 years old and had visited my GP for almost 2 decades hoping for a solution. I was given various antibiotics and topical treatments which had very little effect. I was told that my acne was ‘not bad enough’ for any other treatment and that as it was most likely caused by hormones there was no cure. Aged 32 and working in a professional environment I was fed up of feeling self conscious in my work place and visited Dr Latheef at his clinic in Leeds. He made me immediately feel at ease and for the first time I felt a medical professional was being sympathetic to my problem. He assured me that my acne could be cured and that it did not need to be severe to be treated. I was prescribed accutane and was fully supported throughout the months I took it. I never once felt embarrassed discussing my condition or belittled as I had when seeing my GP. My skin is now amazing! The side effects from accurane were extremely minor and I couldn’t be happier with the overall result. Thank you Dr Latheef!

I have recently seen Dr. Latheef because of a skin concern which was worrying me. He was careful, thorough and utterly professional in his investigation and ultimate diagnosis. Just as importantly, I think, he immediately tuned into my anxiety and was sensitive and compassionate. Rarely have I seen such a combination of professionalism and human concern in a consultant. He is ,I think, exceptional.

I visited Dr Latheef out of desperation as I was at an all time low with how I was feeling with my skin. I never really had bad skin as a teenager and only the last few years I have really struggled with having large Acne and greasy skin. I’m a 37 year old Male. 2-3 times a day I was checking my skin wondering where the next giant spot would be. This really knocked my confidence on a personal level and commercially for my business. I would rather pass on social events or meetings if my face had spots. Dr Latheef was really understanding of how I was feeling and understood what I was going through and started me on a treatment. I have to say that the treatment has been absolutely amazing. After 2-3 weeks of starting the treatment my spots cleared up. No longer was I having to check my face for spots appearing, which in turn boosted my confidence. I am eternally grateful for the help from Dr Latheef and would recommend any men who feel down about their skin problems to get in touch. You won’t forget it. Thank you.

At the age of 24 I started to suffer from acne that was getting increasingly worse and painful each day. I tried to get help from the GP however, it was not deemed severe enough to get referred to see a dermatologist. I found Dr. Faheem Latheef online one day and was contemplating for half a year whether I should get into contact. At this point I had lost self confidence due to my appearance and just wanted help to resolve my skin. I decided to book a consultation with Dr. Latheef and till this day I still wish I had gone to see him sooner. He is very attentive, takes his time to listen to you and problems you may have whilst on treatment. He is patient in explaining anything you don't understand and also very assertive when it comes to his diagnoses of your skin and recommendations whilst you are on treatment. He really cares about what results you want and is realistic about it. I have been on treatment with him for 8 months now and words cannot describe how pleased I am with my skin! I am spot free and have regained my confidence back! I would highly recommend and urge any acne sufferers to get in contact with Dr. Latheef because if I wasn't contemplating for half a year, I would of had clear skin sooner and I wouldn't have left my acne to get so bad. Thank You again Dr. Latheef!

After 7 years of being diagnosed as suffering with Hydradenitis Suppurativa and many treatments of anti biotics I was referred to Dr Latheef for a consultation. He listens to you and asks all the relevant questions. His manner is incredibly reassuring. He prescribed a very intense and high dose of medication which I followed, he saw me mid way through to ensure all was well. The medication 'cured' my symptoms and the hope and relief I was given is beyond articulating. My grateful thanks and I continue on the follow up prescription.

I suffered from solar keratosis of the lips for 35 years but didn't know what it was until it was recently diagnosed. I went to numerous dermatology departments over the years thinking it was allergies and numerous ointments but nothing worked. My face and lips were badly sunburned as a teenager and my lips never fully healed they were flaky and scabby all the time. The scabs and flakes fell away and felt raw and new scabs would form but they never healed it was a continuous cycle which I thought I would have to live with for the rest of my life. Then I was referred to Dr lafeeth and said it was probably acnitic Kealitis. ?? So he prescribed flouricil cream 5%. He said apply to the lips once a day. For first week it was ok it just felt tight and lips a slight sting. Day 6 the scabs began to form and it got worse. The doctor said the worse the reaction it proved the cream was doing its job and the lip skin was badly damaged. I went to work with it and it looked horrendous. The scabbing lasted 2 weeks and eventually it improved. It is a form of chemotherapy cream so I assumed it burned away the damaged skin to reveal the healthy tissue underneath. It is a drastic treatment but it does work just don't plan any social events as it isn't pretty! Now for next 3 months I will use solaraze cream on lips and face to clear up any residual sun damage. The undiagnosed condition did affect my life for so many years. I was shy with women because of my flaky scabby lips. If you think you have the same condition then there are treatments. Sun damage is my occupational hazard as I've been a postman for 35 years. Plus running cycling and metal detecting. So I cover up every day of the year now with sun block spf 50 and lip block.

Dr Latheef is not only one of the most knowledgeable dermatologists of our generation but also a genuinely nice, caring person. I know when I refer patients to him - usually specifically for patch testing and contact allergy as those are his areas of expertise - they will be extremely well looked after. Dr Latheef is not only a great colleague but also a great friend. I recommend him 100%.
