Dr Rafik Refaat

Dr Refaat is a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist who works with Children & Young people from newborns up to the age of eighteen. He runs one of the most successful inpatient and daycare services for children and young people and has expertise in depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicide, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Tourette's syndrome and Autism.

Dr Refaat was trained at Great Ormond Street and at University College London as a lecturer and also has a diploma in Family & Couple Therapy. He offers psychological Therapy including Interpersonal Relationship Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Mentalisation Based Treatment. He also offers parental skills groups and CBT groups for young people.

His special interests include Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Autism, OCD, ADHD, Tourettes Syndrome, children & young people who have depression, anxiety, school refusal and change in behaviour due to psychosis.
