Dr Ian Doughty

Dr Doughty is a Senior Consultant Paediatrician who has practising in Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Dr. Doughty was educated at Oxford University before pursuing a medical degree from London University and completing his PhD at Manchester University. As a General Paediatrician he treats children presenting with a wide range of common problems as well as showing particular expertise in treating paediatric diabetes. He is deeply committed to providing child-centred care that incorporates the needs and wishes of the family into treatment plans.

Beyond his medical work, Dr. Doughty has held a number of training and managerial posts in his hospital, regionally and nationally. These include stints as Clinical Director of Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, National Officer for Training for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and North West Regional Adviser for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He currently serves as Associate Clinical Head of Royal Manchester Children's Hospital for Quality and Safety.
