Dr Gary Wright

Dr Gary Wright is a Consultant Rheumatologist at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast and Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast. He is Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Queens University Belfast. . Dr Gary Wright trained in Belfast and Nottingham. He is an accredited Rheumatologist and is on the GMC Register for Rheumatology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He is past President of the Irish Society for Rheumatology

His research interests include the genetics of rheumatic disease, osteoarthritis, early diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory arthritis, biological therapies for rheumatic disease and musculoskeletal ultrasound in rheumatic disorders.

Dr Wright provides a diagnostic and management service for all acute and chronic rheumatology conditions including common soft tissue musculoskeletal problems such as tendonitis, bursitis and carpal tunnel syndrome; all forms of inflammatory arthritis including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis; other rheumatology conditions such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, connective tissue diseases (such as lupus) and vasculitis.

He also provides a diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasounded guided joint injection service.
