Mr Mokete is consultant ophthalmologist specialising in medical and surgical diseases of the retina, vitreous and macula. From 2004-2005 he received advanced subspecialty training in medical retina at Moorfields at St George's Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, then undertaking a fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the Sussex Eye Hospital followed by a further fellowship at St Thomas' Hospital in London gaining experience in the management of complex vitreoretinal conditions.

Bataung was extremely knowlagable, and had a very calming demeanour, after some tests made other suggestions on the lens being more intermediate than distance to which I agreed. He was very friendly and had a good comadre with all the nurses. They felt like they were all a family and I was visiting. I would never be scared again of this kind of surgery if Mr Mokete was operating
