Dr Andrew Kelion

Andrew Kelion has been a Consultant Cardiologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford since May 2013, where he is currently the clinical lead for cardiac imaging; prior to that was a consultant at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals for 11 years. He has a particular clinical and research interest in coronary disease and cardiac imaging.

Dr Kelion is a former President of the British Nuclear Cardiology Society, and was previously Chair of the Secretary of State for Transport's Honorary Medical Advisory Panel on Driving and Disorders of the Cardiovascular System. He was also a Topic Expert on the NICE Committee which updated the Chest Pain of Recent Onset Guideline CG95 that has been very influential internationally. Dr Kelion currently chairs the Imaging Council of the British Cardiovascular Society.

He has co-authored a number of influential national documents, including National Procedure Guidelines for Myocardial Perfusion Scintigraphy (2004 and 2013). Dr Kelion is a regular contributor to many national training courses and conferences. and he co-wrote the Oxford Handbooks of Nuclear Cardiology (first and second editions) and Cardiovascular CT (first edition).
