Professor Andrew Lewis

Professor Andrew Lewis is a Consultant Cardiologist based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, and an expert in heart imaging and diagnostics. He has extensive experience across all aspects of adult heart care, including chest pain, changes in heart rhythm, breathlessness, assessment of heart risk, and preventive cardiology. He also welcomes patients seeking a second opinion, or who have questions about any existing investigations.

Professor Lewis undertook specialist training in cardiology in Oxford, with further training and research at other leading hospitals in London, Auckland, and Boston at the world-renowned Massachusetts General Hospital. Alongside his clinical practice, he leads a cutting-edge research programme at the University of Oxford and is a national leader of major clinical trials testing new medicines for heart disease and new ways to diagnose heart problems using advanced heart imaging.

Professor Lewis is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers, authored multiple chapters in leading textbooks of medicine, won a number of awards for cardiovascular research, and delivered invited lectures internationally at leading hospitals, universities, and conferences.
