Associate Professor Kanmin Xue

Mr Kanmin Xue is a Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon who sees private patients at Nuffield Health Oxford, The Manor Hospital. He is also an Honorary Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He specialises in vitreoretinal surgery, medical retina, inherited retinal diseases, paediatric retinal disorders and ocular gene therapy.

Mr Xue graduated with a first-class degree in Medical Sciences from the University of Oxford, receiving the Martin Wronker Prize in Medicine, before completing an integrated MB-PhD programme in Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge. Following ophthalmology specialist training in the Oxford/Thames Valley Deanery, he completed a Vitreoretinal Fellowship at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He subsequently undertook a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Career Development Fellowship at the University of Oxford.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Xue is the leader of the Retinal Disease and Repair Group at the Nuffield Laboratory of Ophthalmology, University of Oxford. His research focuses on developing new treatments for retinal diseases in both children and adults.
